NEW SINGLE DAY DISTANCE WORLD RECORD SET AT 786mi

In an effort to raise awareness and money for Your Life Counts, a youth suicide prevention organization, extreme rider Dale Vranckx set a new world record by riding a Sea-Doo personal watercraft 786 miles (1,265 km) in 16 hours 10 minutes. His average speed for the run was an amazing 56.7 mph (91.2 km/hr).

WaterTop Unlimited® completed the company’s forth annual Bimini Road Rally PWC adventure ride under ideal weather conditions and smooth riding for all participants. The four-day/four-night, Miami to Bimini adventure ride saw one-foot seas on their initial crossing of the Gulf Stream and experienced near glassy conditions while visiting the sights of Bimini. Sixteen riders were lead by escort boats Bella Mia, The Office, and Carmita’s Way to enjoy a first class Bimini PWC experience.

Of the 12 fatal watercraft accidents, 11 were single-boat accidents. There were five falls overboard, four boat capsizings, one swamping, and one collision with a submerged object. There was also one fatal collision between two personal watercraft, also called PWCs or water scooters.

To receive an approval, a boating course must meet a detailed set of national standards established by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators as well as the California standards established by DBaW.
